What is Mi Via Waiver?

Mi Via is a self-directed Medicaid waiver program that allows individuals with disabilities to have more control over their services and supports, including choosing their own providers and managing their budgets.

How do I apply for Mi Via Waiver?

What service does Mi Via cover?

Mi Via covers a variety of services, including in-home living supports, community direct support, employment services, therapies, and other self-directed supports to promote independence.

How does Always Advocating NM support Mi Via providers?

We help providers with billing, compliance management, training, and navigating the Mi Via system, ensuring timely and accurate payments for services rendered.

What are the requirements to become a Mi Via provider?

Providers must meet Mi Via program requirements, pass background checks, complete necessary training, and be listed as an approved provider.

How do providers get paid?

Providers are reimbursed based on the participant’s approved Mi Via budget. Payments are processed once all required documentation and billing submissions are received.

Why do I need an Employer Of Record(EOR)?

In the New Mexico Mi Via Waiver program, an Employer of Record (EOR) is an individual responsible for managing and directing the work of employees and vendors who provide services to a Mi Via participant. The EOR plays a crucial role in ensuring that the participant's needs and preferences are met through self-directed services.

Who can be an Employer Of Record (EOR)?

The Participant: If capable and willing, the participant themselves can serve as their own EOR, taking direct control over their services. However, if a participant has granted a Power of Attorney (POA) or Guardianship over financial matters to another individual, they are not permitted to serve as their own EOR. A Designated Representative: If the participant is unable or prefers not to assume the EOR role, they can appoint a trusted individual.

Always Advocating NM is committed to assisting individuals and providers in the Mi Via Waiver program through advocacy, education, administrative support, and efficient billing services. We serve those involved in the Mi Via Waiver, providing resources and guidance on the application process, coverage details, and provider requirements.
